Abstract

This study was carried out in a buffer zone of Achanakmaar Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve in Central India during 2020-22. Overall composition of two sites of buffer zone was comprised 26 species and distributed in 17 families. The most abundant family in tree layers was Fabaceae, Anacardiaceae, and Combretaceae each with three species. The density and basal area, respectively ranged from 542.50 to 565 stems ha-1 and 26.07 to 27.57 m2 ha-1. The Shannon index (H’) varied from 2.36 to 2.91, the concentration of dominance (Cd) from 0.21 to 0.37, evenness from 0.77 to 1.01, species richness from 5.13 to 6.13 and beta diversity (Bd) was 3.33 to 4.56. The study indicated the highest disturbance on Tatidhar site as compared to Keonchi site of the buffer zone of Achanakmaar Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve in Central India.
