Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive review of future projections of Indian government on food consumption, production, and hunger, focusing on the years 2030 and 2050. The study examines these projections in conjunction with aggregate demand and supply forecasts for the year 2032-33. Drawing on data from reputable sources such as the IFPRI (International Food Policy Research Institute) and NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), the review explores the potential trends and challenges that lie ahead in the agricultural and food sectors. This research will investigate how food needs (demand), the ability to produce enough food (production capabilities), and the number of people who are hungry (hunger prevalence) all interact with each other. By understanding these connections, we can provide valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and anyone involved in creating food systems that are sustainable for the future.
